International Women's Day 2021

HAPPY INTERNATIONAL WOMEN'S DAY!!!! As this is our first year celebrating International Women's Day as Safe in Sound we are hosting a very special series of events and profiling some of the amazing women we are lucky to have working across our music sector in Northern Ireland!
We have chosen 5 ambassadors for the week and will profile them daily:
Dana Masters, Holly Lester, Bernadette Morris, Roe and Ríoghnach Connolly Our three special events will all take place on our facebook page here: https://www.facebook.com/safeinsoundni
YOUR RELEASE TOOLKIT - Tuesday 9th March at 12pm
Two of our brightest young industry talents, Aine Cronin-McCartney and Francesca O'Connor, who are both artist managers amongst many other things, will take us through everything we need to know about releasing music.

Our second IWD week event is coming at you from Hannah Richardson and it's a brilliant video piece about mums in music.
Being a mum working in the music industry can still be seen as such a taboo subject, there’s an expectation that as soon as you have kids it’s time to pack in the music and focus on being mum. Meet the women who are not only proving that wrong, but proving that you can do both brilliantly!
Video released on March 11th!

Last but not least our final special event for International Woman's Day Week is 'We know the score' - celebrating female composers in Northern Ireland!!!
This is in partnership with the wonderful people at The Contemporary Music Centre and will be moderated by the powerhouse Evonne Ferguson.
Out panelists will be announced throughout the week and are a brilliant representation of the diverse and talented composers we have working in different genres and writing for different mediums.

Don't forget to keep an eye on our social media pages throughout the week and get sharing!
Remember to celebrate the brilliant women around you... Tell them what they mean to you, thank them for what they do for you, lift them up and always, ALWAYS be the woman you needed when you were a girl.
Lots of love your SIS-ters xxx
