Ecstasy
Ecstasy or "E" is the drug that fuelled the explosion of dance culture in the late 80s. Today an estimated half a million people in the UK use ecstasy each weekend. The drug comes in various forms - tablets, capsules or a powder - and is usually swallowed. Ecstasy should contain the drug MDMA. Tests on pills sold as ecstasy, however, indicate that they sometimes contain drugs related to MDMA, other drugs or no drugs at all. This leaflet provides information to assist you in making a more informed choice about E use and highlights practical steps that can be taken to help keep you and your friends safe.
